How we do it?

• Partner with local farms and a local processor in Poughkeepsie.
• Pay farmers a fair price. What is a fair price? Simple, I ask the farmers what a fair price is for their vegetables.
• WSF pays farmers a 40% deposit upfront. Getting cash flow to farmers when they need it the most.
• If the farmer has total crop failure they keep 25% of the deposit.
• The farm receives a percentage of each share price back for every one of its members that joins us for a Winter Share.
• Our food is much more than a commodity, we price it fairly for the farmer and the customer.
• Distribute food in a CSA manner, cutting down on delivery costs and fossil fuel use.
• WSF sponsors a Winter Market where farms can sell their products in the winter.
• Most of our farms are Organic or Certified Natural Grown. All the farms follow sustainable practices. I put the name of the farm on the product. I want you to make a connection to the farm, not just a certification label.
• We will compost the vegetable waste this season at Poughkeepsie Farm Project.
• We will continue to look for better ways to package, distribute and process our food; including recycling our plastic containers. Sustainability is the mission in every facet of our company.
